BK Hacken’s left winger Momodou Lamin Sonko is turning heads with his scintillating performances this season, having scored 10 goals and five assists across all competitions for the Swedish team.

As a result, Swedish publication Expressen has claimed that the 18-year-old’s stocks have risen to the extent that several top teams including Barcelona, RB Leipzig and Liverpool are now battling for his acquisition.

The outlet further claims that Leipzig’s scouts were present in Finland when Sonko played a training game against HJK Helsingfors a week ago.

Liverpool have been watching him as well

Numerous reports indicate that Liverpool sent their scouts to watch Sonko in the Europa League clash between Hacken and Qarabag FK in Baku this past Thursday.

Even before that, the Premier League team had reportedly visited the Bravida Arena in Hisingen to observe Sonko during a training session with his team.

“I think every single club I have spoken to knows who he is. It’s been that way for a long time – and it’s all the way up to the absolute top teams in Europe. There are many who have been following him for a long time,” said Hacken’s sporting director Martin Ericsson back in October.

Meanwhile, it remains uncertain whether a transfer will transpire this winter involving the 18-year-old, but if a sale does materialize, it is poised to yield a historic sum for BK Hacken.

As per details obtained by Expressen, the club aspires to secure a transfer fee ranging between €8-9 million for the player. If he goes for for the same price, the 18-year-old will become the club’s biggest sale till date.

Lastly, it must also be noted that Sonko is set to train with the Swedish senior national team during their January camp, which will be a valuable opportunity that is poised to further elevate his standing during the winter transfer market. Once again, several clubs are expected to scout the young talent during this camp.
